Ancestry.com is one of the largest genealogy websites available. It offers everything from census records to military records to family trees. However, if you are on a budget, the price can be a little high. While Ancestry does offer a free trial, if you have a large amount of research, the trial will run out way too soon.
Most people are not aware of this fact, but most libraries have a subscription to Ancestry. It does involve a visit to your local library, but is much less expensive than paying for a subscription yourself. There is one catch, though. Most libraries have a limit on computer time to ensure all library patrons have an opportunity to use the computer. Call your local library to ask about what times are the slowest to determine the best time to go.
